Our church website is a great place to publish information about upcoming events, news items, ministries, and other content that is significant to our church and that would be meaningful to people in the community. To post items on the website, the web team needs two types of information:  Required information is what we must have to post an item; Secondary information includes other things that offer additional details.

Required Information

Event name, date, location, and contact person;

Brief, but informative description of the event;

Name, email address, and phone number of a person to contact with questions;

 

Secondary Information - Examples

Flyer, brochure, PDF, or other promotional  materials about the event;

URL addresses for web sites that offer details;

Directions/map to the location of the event;

Picture files (jpg, gif, etc.)

 

REMINDERS 

Content

Submit all required information.  Failure to include important facts may delay publication. Depending on the number of submissions we receive at any given time, we may be unable to honor requests that an announcement be posted on the home page for more than three weeks. 

 

Editing

Review all documents for spelling and grammar to ensure they represent you and/or your department.  We may edit and/or reformat your articles to accommodate their publication on the Internet. However, extensive document editing services will not be provided. 

Photos

DO NOT crop or resize pictures you submit. The team will resize them to conform to web specifications.

  

Attachments

We sometimes receive requests for postings with several attachments.  For example, a request might include a flyer advertising an event, accompanied by background memorandums and other documents related to the planning of that event.  While we will not always be able to post every document, we will do our best to post those items containing the most critical information for the reader.

 

Time Constraints

When advertising an event, submit your item far enough in advance that visitors to the site will have time to see it and make plans to attend.  Our turnaround time for posting your submission on the website may take up to 72 hours. Requests for same- or next-day postings will be honored as we are able. We will make every effort to post your items in a timely manner.
